A RESTOR International charitable benefit shining a light on extraordinary local humanitarian work
On Thursday, September 8, 2016, our RESTOR International charitable benefit at the Laurel Packinghouse was a great success! Our event was sold out as supporters joined us for fabulous local organic fare, danced to the sounds of Rann Berry, and participated in the live auction with world class entertainer and auctioneer, Danny Hooper.
Special guest speaker, Lane Merrifield presented the keynote message, “The Penguin Coin Effect – Integrating Philanthropy into Corporate Culture.” Merrifield’s ideas and leadership were instrumental in developing and launching Kelowna based start-up company Club Penguin in 2005, and leading the company’s phenomenal growth and success to a later acquisition by Disney in 2007. Today, Merrifield is a well-respected international technology executive and global philanthropist and is leading construction of the Okanagan Innovation Centre.
The Board of Directors of RESTOR International sincerely thank everyone who helped make this event possible and especially thank all of you who attended and helped make this evening a success.
THANK YOU!
For over ten years, RESTOR International (formerly Rotaplast Canada) has raised funds to benefit children and adults in developing countries through life-changing reconstructive surgery. RESTOR International was founded in Kelowna and has worked in seven countries. Our fundraising events have enabled hundreds of smiles to be possible, restoring the lives of people suffering from deformities and injuries, and has provided funding to educate medical professionals on the ground in the countries where we work.
